INTERNATIONAL RELOCATION
MOVE OF YOUR LIFE
Thirteen years ago I moved abroad with my three children following my partner's work. We moved from Slovakia to the UK, then to the USA and then back to the UK. While this is certainly an exciting adventure, there are downsides that only someone with this experience understands. Living as an expat outside your home country and culture, you experience a range of emotions, from excitement and wonder to overwhelm, isolation, uncertainty and/or lack of structure. Especially when you have moved as an accompanying spouse and left your job, it is not always easy to find your new purpose. Looking back, I know I was not prepared. And I did not know that at the time. |
With my expat coaching friend Camilla we developed a support programme for accompanying spouses. It offers tips and perspectives I did not have when I first relocated. I know my experience would have been different had someone told me...
www.facebook.com/Moveofyourlife/ You can do this individually or bring friends along. It is designed as one session and a follow up about a month later. It is also possible to arrange more sessions. |
